Camp in Copenhagen: Day Two
14/8/14 08:58Yesterday, we had an orientation session for a few hours, doing lots of activities. Then we went to Tivoli, the amusement park place - Copenhagen's Luna Park. Except Tivoli is the oldest in Europe. My friends and I didn't go on any rides, we were all really tired, and walking around was really pretty. Dinner was at a Japanese place, it was really yummy. We could choose to go back to the hostel at nine or ten, I chose nine. Once we were back, I was getting ready for bed, and fell asleep before they turned the lights out. I always seem to be going to bed early and waking up early (although going to sleep at ten isn't early, it was the earliest of any of us).
I'm having fun at the camp, but I can't wait until tomorrow, when I get to meet my host family in person, and really start my exchange

14/8/14 11:41 (UTC)I hope you had a really fun time there despite not going on any rides.
Btw, does your mobile work?

15/8/14 03:44 (UTC)I think my mobile works... I texted Mum the other day to "confirm" it worked, but I haven't had a reply yet. Every time I text, the phone company texts me to tell me to make sure I have the country number thing on the phone (so I checked and Mum's is with the +61). Despite having the country number, it still sends that text. It says that it's been delivered, but I haven't had any replies since I finished flying. So I don't know. But at around midday today, I'm going to change the sim card to the Swedish one anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter too much?

15/8/14 04:22 (UTC)I have not had any texts from you so no, it can't be working. Can you please ask Beth if hers is working? I know you will be in Sweden soon, but I would like to know if there are issues for the trip back - we can contact the people at WEP here and see if they have ideas.
Don't forget to put in your Swedish SIM card when you are in Sweden, so your host family can ring if they are running late!
I love you and have fun on your big adventure
Mum
